Right from when an employee announces they are taking parental leave to when they return to the workplace. All required procedures and payments are covered in depth.

Who should attend

This course is ideal for anyone who wants a better understanding of the rules around Parental leave and how to setup and process this in the payroll when employees leave or return from Parental Leave.

It is best for people who have used the payroll long enough to feel confident that they know their way around the system and understand all areas of processing a pay, including a termination holiday pay and basic employee setup.

It would also be advantageous to have a good basic understanding of current employment legislation.

On completion of this course you will have a better understanding of:

• All of the legislative requirements for parental leave
• What the employer needs to do before the employee leaves to go on parental leave.
• When employees go on parental leave what to pay out and how this will affect their entitlements
• Changing work patterns and dealing with entitlements.
• If an employee terminates while they are on Parental leave– what to pay out.
• Annual leave payments when they return to work – what values to pay out and for how long.
