It was a party in Brisbane last week, as MYOB‘s annual Partner Connection Conference took over the Brisbane Convention Centre.

MYOB team members mingled with partners, certified consultants, bookkeepers and friends, as we celebrated MYOB’s 20th birthday, reflected on our achievements and shared our vision for the future.  We even got into the swing of things by tweeting live from the event!  (You can check out the feed on Twitter as #MYOBPC11)

Awards were handed out (but more about those next week!), new connections were made, and everyone had the chance to kick up their heels at a lavish Gala Dinner.  We even handed out a few Asus Tablets to some lucky winners, thanks to our friends at Microsoft.

Our partners are a pretty clued up lot.  They’ve seen it all, done it all and audited it all – and they spend plenty of time working closely with their clients to make sure businesses across Australia and New Zealand are ticking along successfully.

So who better to share tips and advice?

We were incredibly lucky to grab a few of them with our iPhone, as they spill their best tips, tricks and hints to make your business life easier.

Just under twenty years ago I was freelancing with Harris Coombs & Co in London UK. Richard (one of the Partners) returned from a Client and the following conversation ensued
“I’ve seen some accounting software you ought to look at, Roy”
    “What’s it called?”
    “Mind Your Own Business”
“OK, Richard, if you feel like that …”
I looked, and was hooked, and Harris Coombs & Co was my first sale of MYOB. It is still my package of choice, and I look forward to the day when it will be legally on sale again in the UK and Ireland.
